This engaging, hands-on program appeals to members of all ages and technical abilities. Through three levels of animated online lessons and instructor-led group activities members learn skills in various Microsoft software programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher.

Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows are among the best selling computer programs of all time. Billions of computers use Windows and Microsoft Office is the most used business software application in the world. Building computer software confidence is crucial when it comes to success in college and in business and knowing how to use Windows and Office will significantly enhance member’s abilities to succeed. Skill Tech: Basic Training enables members to gain these invaluable software skills.

Skill Tech: Basic Training is a simple Boys & Girls Club technology program that teaches members a variety of valuable skills using following programs:

• Microsoft Windows
• Microsoft Paint
• Microsoft PowerPoint
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Digital Image Pro 9
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Publisher
• Microsoft Access

Beginner missions are aimed at 6 to 9 year olds.
Intermediate missions are geared for 10 to 13 year olds.
Advanced missions are designed for teens aged 14 to 18.

There are 21 Skill Tech: Basic Training missions. There are 7 Beginner missions, 7 Intermediate missions, and 7 Advanced missions.

The Beginner missions have a military theme. You won’t find any guns or bombs, but rather a team of “army ants” who are using Microsoft Office products in their work in the different armed forces.
The Intermediate missions also have a military theme, but the characters are more realistic as they work on more complex skills in different service branches.
The Advanced missions do not have a military theme. They focus on basic training for getting a job, writing a resume, and using Microsoft Office products in different work environments.
